
19-year-old Quebec student dies after collision in B.C.
RCMP is trying to determine the cause of the accident which took place on June 30 at approximately 4:30 p.m. in Castlegar, in southeastern British Columbia.
A 19-year-old Quebecer passing through southeastern British Columbia on a student trip died of her injuries at following an accident last Thursday.
A delivery van then collided with a transit bus carrying the victim and 15 other students Quebec.
On Monday, the college where she was studying issued a statement saying that the young woman who was seriously injured in the accident had sadly passed away.
According to Selkirk College, all other students and staff involved in the accident were discharged from Kootenay Lake Hospital after being taken there for evaluation.
Quebec Premier François Legault offered his condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim.

Police say the bus was hit in the side by an oncoming Purolator van, injuring the student, who was sitting at the window where the impact occurred. The young woman's classmates administered first aid.
RCMP victim assistance workers and Selkirk College counselors are working to support the other members of the Quebec group. Trauma support has been provided to everyone involved in the tragic accident.
Investigators are trying to determine why the van swerved into the bus and hope to have access to dashcam video of one of the vehicles that was directly in front of the bus before the crash.
