28-year-old woman perished in head-on collision in Farnham

The victim is a 28-year-old woman from Bromont.

A 28-year-old Bromont woman lost her life in a head-on collision on Friday evening on Route 104, near the intersection of Chemin Bricault, in Farnham.

Police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) were called to the scene around 10:45 p.m. According to their information, a van deviated from its lane to collide with a car traveling in the opposite direction. The two vehicles ended their race in the ditch which borders the road.

Once the help arrived, resuscitation maneuvers were attempted on the driver. She was then taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. As for the driver of the van, a man in his 50s, he was transported to the hospital center for treatment of minor injuries.

A section of Route 104, where the limit of speed is set at 90 km/h, was closed to traffic for part of the night. An SQ officer trained in collision investigation went to the scene to clarify the circumstances of the accident. According to authorities, there is no criminal element connected to the collision, on the face of it.
