A body recovered from the St. Lawrence River

A lady worried about the disappearance of a night worker in the ferry sector.

The body of a 57-year-old man was recovered around 5:30 p.m. Friday from the St. Lawrence River by divers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

Earlier in the morning, around 9:25 a.m., the police were alerted by a woman who was worried about the disappearance of a night worker in the traverse sector, in Quebec.

The man had access to boats at the dock.

Following the search, the Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) had reason to believe that the missing person may have fallen into the St. Lawrence.

The coast guard, the nautical unit of SQ divers and that of the SPVQ then launched a search and recovered the body.

This is the man who was reported missing on Friday morning. His death was declared on the spot.

An investigation by the SPVQ is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of the 50-year-old.
