Police were called to a fight near from the intersection of Poupart and Ontario streets.
A seriously injured 55-year-old man was admitted to hospital overnight after being beaten in the Sainte-Marie neighborhood
It all started around 1 a.m. when the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) received a call for a fight on Poupart Street near Ontario Street, not far from an adult training center.
Arrived at the scene, the police found the victim injured in the upper body. They transported her to a hospital in critical condition.
Medical sources, however, said the 50-year-old is now out of danger.
According to the first elements of the investigation, several individuals would have hit the victim before fleeing, reports Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the SPVM. The motive for the crime is unknown at this time.
