A pilot was seriously injured following a “tumultuous” seaplane landing on Saturday, north of Notre-Dame-du-Laus.

The accident occurred around 11:15 a.m. on the Reservoir aux Sables, near Route 309.

The pilot, who was alone on board the aircraft , was conscious and alert at the start of the rescue operation. However, his state of health has deteriorated, according to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

He was taken to hospital, but there is no fear for his life, the SQ said.

The SQ Major Crimes Unit will jointly conduct an investigation with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) to shed light on the circumstances of the accident.
