After a trip to Kyiv, Macron said he was ready to visit Moscow. But under certain conditions

French President Emmanuel Macron announced his readiness to visit Putin in Russia. However, such a visit can only take place under certain “preconditions”. According to the TF1 TV channel, the French leader said this after his visit to Kyiv.

-Someone does not understand why I continue to talk with Putin. I did it because I see the role of France in it. Visit to Russia? This requires preconditions, which means gestures from Putin. I will continue to speak with him with the knowledge of the President of Ukraine and on the condition that it will be useful,” the President of France said.

He specified that the prerequisites he mentioned have not been fulfilled as of today. He also added that his relations with Vladimir Zelensky had not deteriorated due to contacts with the Russian side.

– I was the first leader who received him between two rounds (of the presidential elections in 2019), the President reminded France.

Macron was in Kyiv with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Italian Prime Minister Sario Draghi and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. They visited Irpen and also held talks with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky.
