Air India attack: Ripudaman Singh Malik allegedly murdered near Vancouver

Ripudaman Singh Malik, acquitted in March 2005 of charges brought against him in connection with the 1985 Air India flight explosion, was reportedly shot and killed Thursday in Surrey, Metro Vancouver.

< p class="e-p">According to a witness, the victim was Ripudaman Singh Malik, who owned a business in the area.

The officers located a gunshot-wounded man at around 9:30 a.m. and administered first aid until he was taken to medical attention. The man succumbed to his injuries at the scene, RCMP said in a statement.

Federal Police do not confirm the name of the victim, but say it was a targeted attack.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is leading the investigation.
