NATO does not fully understand the situation if they say that the Ukrainian defense of Bakhmut may be defeated in the coming days. This was announced on the air of the telethon by the speaker of the eastern group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sergey Cherevaty, commenting on the forecast voiced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg about a possible fall in the defense of Bakhmut in the coming days.

“I want to say that the last war with which NATO had more or less concerning relations – wars in the former Yugoslavia, smaller in volume and smaller in terms of the use of troops, etc. So they got used to stabilization, training or peacekeeping missions. And therefore, it is difficult for them to fully understand the logic of the war here, and they approach this purely pragmatically with dry calculations, sometimes not realizing that the Ukrainians, having been in a powerful military conflict for a year, have gained much greater stability, non-standard actions and the power of tactical decisions, ”explained Cherevaty.

As Cherevaty noted, NATO military analysts still need to study what is happening in Ukraine. At the same time, the military said that such statements by Stoltenberg should be treated with respect, but also with the understanding that the whole situation in NATO is not fully understood and gave an example when, at the beginning of the war, the Alliance was counting the hours until the fall of Kiev.
