On the night of January 2, Russian invaders attacked Kyiv with kamikaze drones. The mayor of the capital, Vitali Klitschko, announced the consequences.
According to him, as a result of enemy attacks, critical infrastructure facilities were damaged, in connection with which emergency power outages are applied in Kyiv. Some heat supply facilities were de-energized in the city, while the water supply of the capital was carried out in the normal mode. As of 9:00 a.m., water and heat supply are carried out as usual.
In the Desnyansky district of Kyiv, balconies and windows in a high-rise building were damaged by debris. A 19-year-old boy was also hospitalized. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that 22 air targets were shot down over the capital during the air raid.
Meanwhile, the Air Force command clarified that at night the air defense of the Air Force, in cooperation with the air defense of other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, destroyed all 39 Shahed-131/136 strike UAVs. In addition, two UAVs of the operational-tactical level Orlan-10 and a guided missile Kh-59 were destroyed during the night.
