Jamala received a new embroidered dress from Yulia Magdych as a gift to replace the one she sold on auction to raise funds for war-affected Ukrainians. The red and white outfit, in which Jamala opened Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv, went under the hammer for 173 thousand hryvnias. – Can clothing be an element of struggle and resistance? I think yes. As a case – an auction from Catawiki, where they sold my dress from Yulia Magdych, and all the funds were transferred to help the Ukrainians. After that, Julia gave me a new one. How do you like it?, – Jamala wrote on Instagram. Yulia Magdych gave Jamala a yellow dress “Violet” by her own brand Yuliya Magdych worth 1.7 thousand dollars. A dress from this collection, but in a slightly different style, is in the wardrobe of Ukrainian TV presenter Katya Osadcha.
