British intelligence assessed the chances of the invaders to break through and named their next target
The Russian occupation troops received orders to advance on most sectors of the front in Ukraine. This is stated in the intelligence report of the UK Department of Defense.
Intelligence notes that the occupiers did not concentrate sufficient offensive combat power in any of the directions to achieve a decisive effect. At the same time, over the past three days «Wagnerians» «almost certainly» achieved little success on the northern outskirts of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, including in the village of Krasnaya Gora.
«However, organized Ukrainian defense continues in this area. The Russian tactical offensive south of the city probably made little headway. In the north, in the Kremennaya-Svatovo region of the Luhansk region, Russian troops are conducting continuous offensive operations, although the scale of each local attack remains too small to achieve a significant breakthrough,” the report says.
The British Defense Ministry believes that Russia is seeking to nullify some of what the Ukrainian forces achieved during the counter-offensive in September-November 2022.
It is assumed that the immediate goal of the occupying forces will be to move west to the Stallion River .
