British intelligence: Occupiers found a more convenient place to launch drones in Kyiv
The Russian occupiers began to launch Shahed kamikaze drones from the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation in order to threaten Kiev more. This is stated in the intelligence report of the UK Ministry of Defense.
On February 27, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine confirmed that it shot down 11 Shahed drones out of 14 launched at night. The chairman of the Kyiv city military administration, Sergei Popko, said that nine of them were shot down near the airspace of Kyiv. Three more were shot down in the Chernihiv region in northern Ukraine.
Intelligence believes that the drones were launched from the Bryansk region. Since mid-December 2022, the only recorded launch site has been the Krasnodar Territory, from where the drones flew across the Sea of Azov.
«The second launch site will give the Russian army a different direction of attack, closer to Kiev. This will likely reduce the UAV's time in the air over Ukraine and may further stretch the Ukrainian air defense system»,— the summary says.
