British intelligence: Russia is losing air superiority in the war with Ukraine
Over the past 10 days, Russia has probably lost at least four combat aircraft in Ukraine. This is stated in the intelligence report of the British Department of Defense.
The reason for this was that the Russian air force tried to cover the ground forces during the Ukrainian counter-offensive. Intelligence also notes that Russian pilots' awareness of the situation on the battlefield was often poor. In particular, there is a real possibility that some planes got lost over Ukrainian territory and entered dense air defense zones as the front lines moved quickly.
“Russia’s prolonged lack of air superiority remains one of critical factors reinforcing the fragility of its operational structure in Ukraine”, — says the British Defense Ministry.
