British intelligence: Russia will not be able to restore its air superiority

British intelligence: Russia cannot regain air superiority

< p>Russia will not be able to regain its advantage in the air, since the loss of aircraft in the war with Ukraine greatly exceeds their ability to produce new ones, and the time to train competent pilots further reduces the ability of the Russian Federation to restore the combat potential of aviation. This is stated in the intelligence report of the British Ministry of Defense.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny said that Russia lost twice as much aviation in Ukraine as in the Soviet-Afghan war. This amounts to 278 aircraft lost in Ukraine versus 119 in Afghanistan.

The British Defense Office notes that the continued lack of Russian air superiority is likely exacerbated by poor training, the loss of experienced crews and an increased risk of close air support in tight air defense zones. However, analysts note that the situation is unlikely to change within a few months.
