British intelligence: Russian transfer of Tu-95MS and Tu-22M bombers will deplete obsolete aircraft

Russia's redeployment of the Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers to the Far East will deplete the already obsolete aircraft. This is stated in the intelligence report of the British Ministry of Defense.

Intelligence refers to the statement of the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov on December 27, when he said that the Russian Federation transferred strategic aviation to the Far East after the explosions at the airfield in Engels 5 and 26 December. As a result of the incident, several strategic bombers were damaged.

The British Defense Ministry notes that the Russian Federation can still launch air-launched cruise missiles into Ukraine, since the range of these weapons is 5,000 km in addition to the range of the bombers .

However, flying from staging areas will add additional maintenance workload and further deplete the limited flight hours available on these aging aircraft.
