British intelligence: Shoigu's personnel in Ukraine became a response to Prigozhin's visit to the front line
The publication of footage of the visit of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shogygu to Ukraine was a response to the trip of the leader of the terrorist PMC «Wagner» Yevgeny Prigozhin at the forefront. This is stated in the intelligence report of the UK Department of Defense.
Intelligence notes that «Wagner» is in a high-profile dispute with the Russian Ministry of Defense, and Shoigu is probably sensitive to comparisons with Prigozhin.
The British Defense Ministry drew attention to the fact that the only Russian field commander who got into the video with Shoigu was Colonel General Rustam Muradov. It is Muradov who is responsible for the Ugledar sector, where several assaults by Russian invaders have failed over the past three months.
It was also noted that until recently, the Russian command probably considered a breakthrough in the Ugledar region as a key way to achieve operationally significant breakthrough on the front line of Ukraine. As of now, Russian planners are believed to be faced with a choice: launch another assault on Vugledar or support intense fighting further north around Bakhmut and Kremennaya.
