British intelligence: The situation for the Ukrainian defenders of Bakhmut is becoming more complicated
Russian forces have made things difficult for the Ukrainian defenders of Bakhmut over the past week. This is stated in the intelligence report of the British Department of Defense.
According to intelligence officials, over the past week, the Russians have continued to make slight advances in attempts to cordon off Bakhmut.
«M03 highways and H32 are the two main access routes to the city for Ukrainian defenders — now probably under direct fire threat as a result of the latest advances of Russian forces. Earlier this week, Wagner militants most likely captured another road connecting Bakhmut with Seversk. Although many alternative cross-country supply routes remain available, Bakhmut finds himself increasingly isolated», — intelligence informs.
- Colonel Margo Grosberg, commander of the Intelligence Center of the Estonian Defense Forces, said that the Ukrainian troops have gained time and will probably leave Bakhmut at some point.
- President Volodymyr Zelensky notes that if Ukraine receives long-range weapons as soon as possible, the Ukrainian Defense Forces will not only not withdraw from Bakhmut, but will also begin to de-occupy the previously captured territory of the eastern regions.
