Stéphane Langlois is scheduled to appear on September 8 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa (archives).
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) announces that they have laid multiple charges against former Rockland lawyer Stéphane Langlois, following a lengthy financial crime investigation.
The investigation began in August 2016, the OPP said in a statement dated July 21, following several allegations of criminal fraud, embezzlement and criminal breach of trust against Mr. Langlois.
As a result of this investigation, the 51-year-old former Rockland lawyer faces numerous charges under the Criminal Code.
He is notably the subject of 12 counts of fraud over $5,000, 15 counts of criminal breach of trust, 15 counts of embezzlement and 15 counts of fraudulent theft.
The accused is scheduled to appear on September 8 in the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa.
The OPP; Ontario says it will not comment further on this matter in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.
