China records heat records and extreme conditions

In some Chinese cities, the temperature exceeds 40 degrees Celsius.

Record temperatures were recorded in several cities in China on Tuesday, while weather conditions, which alternate between scorching heat and incessant rain, are expected to continue in the coming days.

Red alerts were declared across the country on Tuesday, and several cities took measures to prevent residents from suffering from high temperatures.

In the city of Yixing, located in the coastal region of Jiangsu, temperatures exceeded 41 degrees on Tuesday, an all-time high, the China Meteorological Administration said on Wednesday.

Temperatures reached 37-39 degrees in several provinces of China, as well as in the cities of Chongqing and Shanghai.

Temperatures of around 40 to 42 degrees were also recorded in several cities in Sichuan, Yunnan and Jiangsu.

Northern China was swept by heavy rains.

Meteorologists expect intense heat and rain to continue for the next few days.
