Danilov: There have been 5 attempts on Zelensky's life since the beginning of the war in Ukraine

There have been 5 attempts to kill President Vladimir Zelensky since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. All attempts to deal with the head of state were made in late February and early March. This was stated by the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council in an interview with The Globe and Mail.

– Mr. Danilov said that Russia's attack on Ukraine included five separate attempts to assassinate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, all of which were committed in late February and early March, the newspaper writes.

As noted in the report, the NSDC secretary did not specify the details of the assassination attempts on Zelensky, but at the beginning of the war he spoke about a detachment of Chechen fighters who were instructed to kill the Ukrainian leader .

At the end of April, the National Security and Defense Council announced that two days before the Russian invasion, Ukraine received a document on a possible attempt on the president. Then Danilov said that this information was passed on to the personal security of the president, the state security department, speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Prime Minister Denis Shmygal and Interior Minister Denis Monastyrsky. Fortunately, the crime was prevented.
