
Defense Minister Reznikov: The manufacturer of “Bayraktars” will focus on providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The manufacturer of Bayraktars will soon focus on meeting the needs of the Armed Forces. This was announced on June 28 by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov. – We also received a new request from the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and thus, in the near future, almost all the capacities of the Baykar Makina plant will be focused on meeting the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. We are talking about orders for dozens more drones,” he wrote on Facebook. The construction of a plant for the production of Bayraktarov in Ukraine, which was agreed with Turkey in 2021, is included in the mid-term plans. – At present, communication between the defense departments of Ukraine and Turkey continues, and we continue to work on the implementation of the plant construction project. These are medium-term plans,” the minister noted. Since February 24, the Ministry of Defense has put into service with the Ukrainian military up to fifty Bayraktars. A few more have been contracted and paid for by the Ministry of Defense, they are expected in July. On June 27, the Turkish company Baykar Makina announced that it would give Ukraine three Bayraktars free of charge, the funds for which were raised by host Serhiy Prytula. Prior to this, the company donated a drone, the money for which was raised by Lithuanian journalist Andrius Tapinas.
