The reason for removing Lyudmila Denisova from her position was her “independent position on all issues”, including LGBTI issues. The ex-Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights expressed this opinion live on the Facebook page of the Kharkiv Human Rights Group. According to Denisova, at the beginning of her work as the Ombudsman – in 2019 – cooperation with the Office of the President and the President was “at a high level”, but everything changed with the new presidential team. – The tension grew.
