The representative of the Pope in Ukraine, Cardinal Konrad Kraevsky, along with his entourage came under fire on Saturday in the war zone while transporting humanitarian aid. This was reported by ANSA.
It is noted that neither the cardinal nor those accompanying him were injured as a result of the shelling.
The representative of the Pope made a humanitarian trip together with the Catholic and Protestant bishops, accompanied by a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is clarified that they went to distribute humanitarian aid to settlements «where no one else goes except soldiers». At one of the planned stages of the trip, the group came under fire and the cardinal, along with others, had to flee.
“For the first time in my life, I didn’t know where to run, it’s not enough to run, you need to know where”, — ; said the cardinal to the Vatican media, speaking in Zaporozhye.
