CAEI volunteers clean the Caribbean beach in the municipality of Guayacanes, San Pedro de Macorís.
The Sugar Consortium of Industrial Companies (CAEI) reiterated its environmental commitment by actively participating in the International Beach Cleaning Day with the integration of volunteer personnel who cleaned the Caribbean beach in the municipality of Guayacanes, San Pedro de Macorís.
This initiative is coordinated at the national level by the Ministry of the Environment and at the local level CAEI participates through the Multisectoral Coalition for the Conservation of the Higüamo River Basin, of which the company serves as the secretariat of the Board of Directors.
Collaborators from different areas of the consortium who have a common interest with the company in preserving the environment participated voluntarily in the activity.
Gabriel Argüello, Director of Quality and Environment of the CAEI Consortium, led the initiative and thanked those present for their spirit of collaboration.
“This collective effort to clean a beach is a message of high value for future generations . I invite you to continue doing your bit to have an environmentally sustainable country, “added Argüello.
Yadette Jiménez, coordinator of the Integrated Management System, explained to those present the procedure for the day to be successful and to clean this beach for the community.
Jiménez is CAEI's representative before the Multisectoral Coalition for the Conservation of the Higüamo River Basin, for which he is in charge of coordinating the final disposal of collected waste.
