Shots fired in a park in Little Italy in Montreal

The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. Friday evening at Dante Park, at the intersection of Dante Street and Gaspé Avenue, in Montreal.

Several shots were fired in a park in Little Italy on Friday night in Montreal, in an incident that caused no injuries.

Around 10:45 p.m., the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) received several calls concerning shots allegedly fired in Dante Park, at the ;intersection of rue Dante and avenue de Gaspé.

According to the first information provided by the police force, several young people were at the park at the time, but they fled before officers arrived on the scene.

The police, however, found several shell casings on the ground. No injuries were reported and no arrests were made as a result of this incident.

Investigators, supported by the canine unit, had to go on site to look for evidence, analyze the scene, meet witnesses and understand all the circumstances of this event, according to Mariane Allaire Morin, spokesperson for the SPVM.
