On April 16, TV presenter Oksana Marchenko recorded a video message to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson with a request to exchange Sean Pinner and Aiden Eslin for her husband Viktor Medvedchuk. Medvedchuk was detained by the SBU on April 12. Around the same time, it became known that Sean Pinner and Aiden Eslin, who fought as part of the units of the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Mariupol, decided to surrender, since they no longer had food and ammunition.
To Aiden Eslin, 28, fought in Syria against the Islamic State in 2015 on the side of the Kurdish YPG. He began serving in the 36th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2018 and was going to marry a resident of Nikolaev, an English teacher at the training center of the Ukrainian Navy. Sean Pinner is 48 years old. Moroccan citizen Brahim Saadoun is 21 years old. He came to Ukraine in 2019, tried to study at the Polytechnic University, and in 2021 signed a three-year contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
