During the exhumation of the bodies in the liberated Izyum, they found the burial of an entire family, among them a five-year-old girl. This was announced by Daria Gerasimchuk, Advisor to the President's Office for Children's Rights and Child Rehabilitation.
“Lesya Stolpakova, 5 years old. The Russians killed her on March 9, along with her mother, father and 8-year-old sister Sasha. Lesya's parents died very young. The family lived a happy, quiet life until Russian troops came to kill Ukrainian civilians,” she said.
It is known that mother Elena Stolpakova was only 31 years old on February 1, dad Dmitry – 33. They were private entrepreneurs, they sold children's clothes and owned an online gift shop. They raised two daughters. (For 8-year-old Sasha, Dmitry was a stepfather, and the girl has a different surname, so her grave became known later).
March 9 at about 7:00 to the house on the street. On May Day, the Russians dropped an aerial bomb, and then accurately finished him off with a tank until he finally collapsed. Neighbors told journalists about this. At least 44 people died under the rubble of the house.
“Most of the dead were hiding in the basement from Russian shelling. According to eyewitnesses, they were filled with debris. The neighbors could not even help to get out because of the heavy shelling of the Russian military. In the cemetery where the Stolpakov family is buried, 445 graves were counted. And this is not the only burial in Izyum,” says Gerasimchuk.
At the time of the airstrike, Elena’s parents, her younger sister and grandmother were also in the basement with them. Four generations of one family perished. In an instant, Gerasimchuk writes.
