Four people arrested in connection with drug trafficking on the North Shore

Agents of the Mixed Regional Squad (ERM) Rive-Nord carried out searches on Wednesday morning in connection with cocaine trafficking. Four people were arrested during the operation.

Four people were arrested Wednesday morning and searches are underway in connection with drug trafficking on the North Shore of Montreal, said the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) in a statement released Wednesday.

Three of the suspects are scheduled to appear Wednesday by videoconference at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse. They are three men aged 37, 45 and 58. A 36-year-old woman was also arrested during the police operation, but a date for her appearance has not yet been set, says Sergeant Éloïse Cossette of the SQ.

The operation, which more specifically targets cocaine trafficking on the North Shore of Montreal, is led by the Regional Mixed Squad (ERM) Rive-Nord.

Ten searches are carried out on Wednesday morning as part of this operation and aim to collect evidence and link the arrested individuals to drug trafficking.

The searches are carried out in residences and commercial premises, as well as in four vehicles. The results of these searches should be disclosed later in the day, said Ms. Cossette.

The police operation mobilized a thirty officers from the Sûreté du Québec, together with the Terrebonne and L'Assomption/Saint-Sulpice police departments. It made it possible to search commercial premises, as well as residences and four vehicles.

Wednesday's operation mobilized more than 30 police officers from various units of the Sûreté du Québec, as well as members of the Terrebonne and L'Assomption/Saint-Sulpice police services.

The investigation began in January 2022, and covers several territories on the Rive -North of Montreal.
