G7 countries called on China to influence Putin to end the war in Ukraine

G7 countries called on China to put pressure on Russia and force to stop the aggression against Ukraine. This is discussed in the joint communiqué of the G7 leaders.

– We call on China to put pressure on Russia to immediately comply with the legally binding ruling of the International Court of Justice of March 16, 2022, as well as the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly, stopped its military aggression and immediately and unconditionally withdrew its troops from Ukraine, the statement said.

As noted in the document, the leaders of the G7 countries are sending an appeal to China to influence Russia as the Kremlin continues to invade Ukraine. World leaders consider the war against our country to be unjustified, unprovoked and illegal.

In mid-March, American leader Joe Biden held talks with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. During the conversation, the head of the Republic of China said that peace is the basis of interstate relations. The politician claims that “conflicts and confrontations” like the events in Ukraine do not meet anyone's interests. Then Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine shares the position of the Chinese authorities on the need to end the war in Ukraine through a political solution and calls on Beijing to play an important role in this.
