GUR: Spring and early summer will be decisive in the war

Spring and early summer will be decisive in the war against the Russian invaders. This was stated in an interview with DELFI by Deputy Chief of Military Intelligence, Major General Vadim Skibitsky.

According to him, if a major Russian offensive planned for spring — the beginning of the summer will fail, it will be the collapse of Russia and the dictator Vladimir Putin. Answering a question about whether the war could end in 2023, the Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate replied that they could not look far yet, as they had to go through this first stage – spring and early summer.

The General added that the change in the Russian military leadership, the end of the first stage of mobilization and regrouping of the Russian army indicate that the main activity of the Russians will unfold in the Donetsk and Lugansk directions.

Intelligence suggests that in February – March there will be battles for these two areas , and the Russians will try to take control of Kupyansk, Svatovo, Kremennaya. Skibitsky stressed that the fierce battles for Bakhmut and Soledar show that the main battlefield will be in the Donbass.
