Thirteen U.S. states have previously passed anti-abortion laws if Roe v. Wade is repealed. Seven more states still have pre-1973 bans in their laws, and they could now come back into effect. Only 16 out of 50 US states have laws protecting the right to terminate a pregnancy.

The ban on abortion has already entered into force in six states – Missouri, South Dakota, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kentucky and Oklahoma.

Biden called the court's decision a “tragic mistake” and Trump called it a “great victory”

US President Joe Biden has already reacted to the decision of the Supreme Court, calling it a “tragic mistake” and “cruelty”. The American leader said that the court openly took away the constitutional right of US citizens.

– This is a sad day for our country, and, from my point of view, the struggle is not over. This is the epitome of extreme ideology and the tragic mistake of the Supreme Court, I believe. The court did something that it had not done before – openly took away the constitutional right. Friday's Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade “literally takes America back 150 years,” Biden was quoted by Voice of America. that the authorities of the country use all the relevant legal powers, but the final decision will be with congressmen.

Biden's predecessor – Donald Trump supported the decision of the Supreme Court, which was one of his campaign promises.

– Today's decision is the biggest victory for life in a generation, along with other recent decisions that were only made possible by the fact that I delivered on everything I promised, including the nomination and inclusion of three very respected and strong defenders of the constitution to the Supreme Court. United States, Trump said.

Attorney General Merrick Garland said the Justice Department disagrees with the Supreme Court's decision to strike down Roe v. Wade. He believes that the court's decision took away part of an integral part of women's freedom.

– The Supreme Court canceled an established right that has been an integral part of women's freedom for half a century – a right that guaranteed women's ability to fully and equally participate in society . And by abandoning this fundamental right, which it has repeatedly recognized and reaffirmed, the Court has reversed the doctrine of stare decisis, a key pillar of the rule of law, Garland said.
