< p>Russian occupiers began to use Soviet K-51 chemical grenades, produced back in the 1970s. This is stated in the message of the Telegram channel Legion «Freedom of Russia», whose fighters are fighting on the side of Ukraine.

Volunteers note that the indicated ammunition was used by the invaders in Mayorsk. In the published photos, you can see the K-51 grenade with a plastic case. The grenade container is filled with a powdered highly irritating non-lethal substance (probably CS, that is, 2-chlorobenzalmalonodinitrile).

Occupants have periodically used such grenades since the start of the war in 2014. Volunteers emphasize that the enemy is forced to use old Soviet weapons due to a serious shortage of ammunition, and the use of chemical weapons «speaks of the helplessness, unprofessionalism and low morale of the Kremlin army».
