ISW: Russia deployed troops from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to Ukraine

The Russians apparently deployed Iranian servicemen associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to the occupied territories of Ukraine to teach the Russian military how to use the Shahed-136 drones. This is reported by the American Institute for the Study of War.

According to the Center for National Resistance, the occupiers brought an unspecified number of Iranian instructors to Dzhankoy in Crimea, Zhelezny Port and Gladovtsy in the Kherson region to train Russian troops in the use of attack drones.

The report says that Iranian instructors control the launch of kamikaze drones on civilian targets in Ukraine, including in the Mykolaiv and Odessa regions. It is assumed that the IRGC is the main operator of Iranian drones, so these Iranian instructors may be employees of the IRGC or related persons.
