Ukraine's ability to maintain an advantage and continue operational gains depends on whether the Defense Forces continue consecutive operations over the winter. This is reported by the American Institute for the Study of War.

Ukrainian officials have said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine plan to continue offensive operations throughout the winter to consolidate recent gains on the battlefield and prevent the Russian occupiers from seizing the initiative.

< p>The ISW notes that Ukraine's ability to maintain the military initiative and continue the momentum of current operational success depends on whether Ukrainian forces continue to conduct consecutive operations during the winter of 2022-2023.

At the same time, analysts admit that the Ukrainian defenders are preparing to take advantage of the frozen ground to make their advance easier compared to moving through the mud of the autumn months.
