
Knife attacks leave two injured in Montreal
The assault took place in a busy commercial area of the city of Montreal.
Two people were injured by stab wounds during a clash between two groups of individuals in the middle of the night on Friday in downtown Montreal.
These are two men aged 23 and 29. The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reports that one of them is in critical condition in hospital while the other is in stable condition.
The SPVM was informed around 3:30 a.m. that the confrontation had just taken place on Sainte-Catherine Street West, near the intersection of the rue de la Montagne.
No arrests could be made.
The police set up a security perimeter and SPVM investigators started looking for witnesses.
He s' is a busy commercial area of the city. It is possible that in addition to witnesses, images from surveillance cameras could help the work of investigators.
The investigation is underway to determine the exact causes of the attack.
