Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics Lilia Podkopayeva no longer communicates with her close friend and godmother Ani Lorak, which is silent about the war in Ukraine. The athlete told reporters about this behind the scenes of a charity event in support of our country in Times Square in New York, writes “Facts”.

– The masks have been removed. Everyone showed who is who. We do not communicate, – Lilya briefly noted.

In addition to Podkopayeva, Ukrainian and world celebrities took part in the charity event in support of Ukraine. Among them are Hollywood actress Mila Kunis with her husband Ashton Kutcher, Bria Blessing, Mika Newton, ALYOSHA, Arina Domski, jazz singer Margot Sergent, Latvian band Dagamba. The evening was hosted by TSN journalist Marichka Padalko.

– A large charity event in Times Square is not only an opportunity to raise funds, but also in various ways to remind Americans about the war and about what talented artists a country that needs help gives birth to, – said Marichka.

Podkopayeva 43 of the year. From 2004 to 2009, the athlete was in a relationship with businessman Timofey Nagorny. In July 2006 they adopted their son Vadim. Four months later, the couple had a daughter, who was named after the godmother of the girl, Ani Lorak. In August 2019, the gymnast married businessman Igor Dubinsky, and in September of the same year, the couple had a daughter. Now the ex-gymnast lives in two countries – Ukraine and the USA.
