Maurice “Mom” Boucher dies at 69

Mauritius “Mom” Boucher died of widespread throat cancer.

Former Hells Angels Quebec chapter leader Maurice Boucher, better known as nickname “Mom”, died Sunday at the age of 69 of throat cancer.

Maurice Boucher had been imprisoned in the Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines penitentiary for 22 years, where he was serving a life sentence, without the possibility of parole for at least 25 years.

He had been found guilty of orchestrating the murders of Pierre Rondeau and Diane Lavigne, two prison guards murdered in the late 1990s, as well as the attempted murder of a third prison guard, Robert Corriveau.

He had been arrested in 1997, when he was head of the Nomads section of the Hells Angels, the armed wing of the criminal biker group.

He had been acquitted in 1998 after a first trial, then arrested again in 2000. He then underwent a second trial, at the end of which he was charged on May 5, 2002.

But he did not x27;is not calmed down behind bars.

In 2015, while he is still detained, Maurice Boucher is again arrested and accused, this time of having conspired to assassinate criminal Raynald Desjardins, a close associate of the Montreal mafia, who had pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of conspiracy for the murder of Salvatore Montagna, murdered on November 24, 2011 in Charlemagne, near Montreal.

< p class="e-p">Boucher had plotted this murder with his daughter, Alexandra Mongeau. He was sentenced in 2018 to a symbolic sentence of an additional 10 years in prison. Her daughter, meanwhile, was acquitted.
