Media: Biden believes that Crimea «red line» for Putin, but they do not plan to stop Ukraine from de-occupying it

The US presidential administration is still convinced that Ukraine's return of Crimea is a «red line» for Putin, and this threatens to seriously escalate. This was reported by Politico, citing sources.

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during a remote communication with a group of experts, said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin would clearly perceive Ukraine's attempt to return Crimea as crossing a «red line&# 187; and this could provoke Russia into a large-scale reaction.

Sources of the publication note that Blinken said that the United States does not particularly encourage Ukraine to return Crimea, but the decision «is exclusively up to Kiev», and the Biden administration sees the primary goal is to help Ukraine succeed in the ongoing fighting in the east.

Witnesses to the conversation admit that Washington does not consider the intention to return Crimea to be a very wise move at this particular moment, but this was not said directly. Others present took the Secretary of State's response as saying that Blinken is quite open to the scenario that Ukraine might try to enter Crimea.
