Media: Russia is preparing a large-scale offensive in the next 10 days
Over the next 10 days, Russia plans to launch a new large-scale offensive. The Financial Times writes about this with reference to an unnamed adviser to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the interlocutor of the publication, Ukraine received «very reliable intelligence data» about the intention of the Russian Federation to launch a new offensive. The goal of the upcoming offensive of the Russian occupation forces is the capture of the entire Donbass. It is assumed that the invaders can launch an offensive in the areas of the cities of Kremennaya and Liman, where the enemy has been concentrating large forces for several weeks already.
In addition, the terrorist country is building up its troops in the south of the Donetsk region, transferring additional forces to settlements around Mariupol. The publication emphasizes that Russia intends to launch an offensive before Ukraine receives the tanks and other additional weapons promised by the West.
An anonymous adviser to the Armed Forces of Ukraine also told the FT that the Russian offensive is likely to be led by elite units.
«These are real mechanized brigades, even if they are less combat-ready than they were at the beginning of the war. They reinforced the airborne and naval units. These are not bus drivers and school teachers,” he said.
- The day before, President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on a likely Russian offensive in February.
