Russia is ready to leave the territory of the occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in exchange for the uninterrupted transit of oil and gas through Ukraine. It is reported by «Medusa» citing sources close to the government of the Russian Federation and the Kremlin.
According to sources, the Russian Federation is ready to leave the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, but does not plan to completely leave the Zaporozhye region. Thus, the Kremlin plans to transfer the nuclear power plant to either the Ukrainian authorities or the IAEA.
However, for the withdrawal of troops, the Russian authorities want to fulfill the condition — they expect to receive guarantees of uninterrupted transit of oil and gas through the territory of Ukraine.
The interlocutors of the publication note that both the Kremlin and the government «there is a readiness for a deal», since « pumping and selling oil and gas is very important for the Russian budget».
In turn, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, in a comment to the publication, denied the possibility of such a deal.
