The United States plans to include Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB) missiles with a range of 150 kilometers in the new package of military assistance to Ukraine. This is reported by Reuters, citing its sources.
GLSDB missiles can also be launched from HIMARS and M270 MLRS installations, which have been used by the Armed Forces since the summer of 2022. The new weapons will allow hitting targets at almost twice the distance, as Ukraine is currently being supplied with missiles with a maximum range of up to 80 kilometers.
The new military aid package is expected to include more support equipment for Patriot air defense systems , as well as precision-guided munitions and Javelin anti-tank weapons.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin threatened that if Kyiv received long-range munitions for HIMARS, then “we will use our weapons, which we have enough, in order to to strike at those objects on which we have not struck them yet. The supply of long-range missiles was also called the “red line” in the Russian Foreign Ministry.
