Friends and family of Meriem Boundaoui had left flowers and stuffed animals at the scene of the tragedy which claimed the life of the 15-year-old girl.

Aymane Bouadi, 27, will have to face justice for his alleged role in the murder of Meriem Boundaoui.

His appearance at the Montreal courthouse took place late Thursday morning. Among the list of acts against him is a charge of first degree murder, that of the 15-year-old girl on February 7, 2021

Aymane Bouadi will also have to to answer four other counts of attempted murder. He is due to reappear in court on July 22.

He is one of five people arrested Wednesday in connection with the case. The other suspects have still not appeared, and we do not know the nature of the charges that will be filed against them.

According to the SPVM, Aymane Bouadi was in the car with his alleged accomplice, Salim Touaibi, at the time of the murder. Mr. Touabi was arrested a few days earlier. He was also formally charged with premeditated murder.

It therefore took 16 months before the identity of the alleged murderers was known. The murder weapon has still not been found.

Recall that Meriem Boundaoui was shot in the head while #x27;she was sitting in the passenger seat of a car, at the corner of rue Valdombre and rue Jean-Talon, in the borough of Saint-Léonard in Montreal.

The 15-year-old girl found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time that day and was a collateral victim of a conflict, according to the police theory which would have erupted not far from there.
