If there are no new attacks from the Russian Federation, Ukraine will stabilize the energy system until the summer. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko in an interview with Forbes.
According to the Minister, the situation in the energy system of Ukraine is difficult, but he did not give exact figures. Galushchenko explained the extremely difficult situation in Kyiv by the fact that on Monday (December 19) there were very significant damage to Kyiv as a result of shelling.
«Therefore, in Kyiv now — the most difficult situation. She is improving little by little. There is already more available power today than yesterday», — he explained.
According to the minister, Kyiv is not disconnected from the energy system — the Ukrainian energy system is intact.
When asked when Ukraine would be able to stabilize the systems and end the blackouts, provided that there were no more strikes, Galushchenko replied that the rate of recovery was due to the shelling.
< p>«If there is no shelling, even with the already damaged generation, we will stabilize the system until the summer. We have a list of solutions that will make it possible», — Galushchenko noted.
According to him, electricity imports — «possible option».
«We have already tested the import in small volumes. We are currently working on mechanisms that will significantly increase electricity imports. Now it is 600 MW — day, 700 MW — night. Technically the possibility is much larger — 1.6-2 GW», — he added.
Galushchenko also specified that among the solutions — mobile power plants up to 50 MW. They will help power the power plants that «sat zero», as well as give additional power to the system. The minister added that there are manufacturers in Ukraine who manufacture such stations.
When asked whether Russia would continue to hit the energy system after the end of the heating season, Galushchenko replied that he hoped that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would help the occupiers stop.
