Murder of Joedin Leger : At least five of six defendants in court Monday in Moncton

In New Brunswick, six people are charged with first degree murder in connection with the death of an 18-year-old teenager at a residence on Logan Street in Moncton on April 25. At least five of them are scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on Monday.

Joedin Leger was shot and killed. He was first taken to hospital and later died of his injuries.

The defendants in this case are Nicholas Joseph James McAvoy, 24, Riley Robert Sheldon Phillips, 18, Hunter Nash England, 20, Jerek John England, 23, Hayden Joseph James LeBlanc, 18, and another man aged 18. years old who cannot be named, as he was a minor at the time.

It is very rare that six people are charged with first degree murder in connection with the same case.< /p>

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police had established a security perimeter near the residence where Joedin Leger was killed, on Logan Street in Moncton (file).

During the RCMP investigation last spring, authorities indicated that a car had stopped in front of a house on Logan Street at dawn and four people in the forestay between outputs. After firing shots, they fled in their vehicle.
