NYT: One of the attacks on Russian airfields was coordinated by Ukrainian special forces

< p> Drones that attacked the military airfields “Dyagilevo” near Ryazan and “Engels-2” near Saratov were launched from the territory of Ukraine. This is reported by The New York Times with reference to a high-ranking Ukrainian official.

The interlocutor of the publication said that at least one strike was carried out with the support of special forces, who were located near the airfield. He helped direct the drones to the target.

«The strikes signaled Kyiv's renewed willingness to engage bases behind Russian lines, raising the stakes in the war, and for the first time demonstrated Ukraine's ability to attack at such a great distance« #187;, — notes the publication.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian government refused to take responsibility for the explosions at Russian airfields.

  • December 5 at two airfields from where the Russian Federation launches missiles at Ukraine, explosions thundered. Tu-95 aircraft were damaged.
  • The Russian Defense Ministry said that the attacks on military airfields were carried out by “Soviet-made jet unmanned aerial vehicles.”
