
Police officer killed in shooting in suburban Toronto, CBC sources say
Police were called to the scene of the Mississauga shooting at approximately 2:15 p.m.
A man was arrested Monday afternoon after two shootings that left one dead and two injured in Mississauga and Milton, suburbs of Toronto. According to CBC sources, the person killed is a police officer.
Both injured were taken to hospital. The third person was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Halton police.
Earlier in the afternoon, officers had issued a provincial alert about the x27;an armed and dangerous man.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., Peel Regional Police Constable Heather Cannon clarified that there was no longer any danger to the public and that the alert would be lifted shortly.
The fatal shooting occurred around 2 p.m. near Argentia Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard.
