Prime Minister of Bulgaria: We will not supply weapons to Ukraine, we help enough
The Bulgarian authorities have provided enough assistance to Ukraine and will not supply weapons. This was stated by Prime Minister Kirill Petkov in an interview with BGNES. – I do not think that every two weeks we should reopen this topic, which we have done for Ukraine at the level of support for refugees, funds, introduced any humanitarian aid, we will repair their equipment – military vehicles, the fact is that we supported all measures when it came to sanctions against Russia. We have done enough for the Bulgarian state to support them, and we will continue,” Petkov said. As the Bulgarian Prime Minister noted, regarding the provision of weapons to Ukraine, Bulgaria will comply with the decision of the National Assembly. – This discussion about whether we will give Ukraine weapons or not, we conducted it, we have a decision of the National Assembly, we will comply with this decision. The first repair equipment that we promised is underway, we will do it,” he said. The decision to repair Ukrainian military equipment at Bulgarian defense enterprises was adopted by the country's parliament in May. At the same time, there was no talk of providing weapons to Ukraine then. Later, Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria Vitaliy Moskalenko sent a note to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry with a request to help our state with weapons. In particular, Kyiv is asking for Soviet-style howitzers and missile systems.
