The prison escapee arrested at a Beauport gas station

Dave Gingras-Gaudet had been on the run since Thursday evening.

Law enforcement recovered the 37-year-old man who had escaped from prison on Thursday evening. They arrested him on Saturday evening, at a service station in Beauport.

It's the tactical intervention group of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ ) who arrested the 30-year-old.

The police operation took place around 8 p.m., rue Seigneuriale, at the intersection with rue Cambronne, not far from the Félix- Leclerc.

No injuries are to be deplored, indicates the SQ.

Dave Gingras-Gaudet was taken care of by the Quebec detention facility. He has been sleeping in prison again since Saturday.

He is due in court on Sunday to face escape charges. Contacted by Radio-Canada, officials at the service station where the arrest took place declined to comment.

The fugitive's criminal record mentions several convictions.

The fugitive had made himself beautiful from prison, aided by accomplices . He had taken advantage of an outing in the courtyard to flee.

He had been in detention since February. He was accused of possessing a prohibited firearm and concealment. Previously, he had been implicated for theft and obstruction of justice.
