Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a new goal of the war against Ukraine. He made the corresponding statement during a meeting with students.
According to the Russian dictator, the occupiers on the territory of Ukraine are fighting against the threats that Russia «is trying to create in its own historical territories».
«The goal (of wars — ed.), as I have said many times, is, first of all, the protection of people and the protection of Russia itself from the threats that they are trying to create on adjacent to us our own historical territories. We cannot allow this,” Putin said.
Turning to students, Putin noted that when young people go to fight against Ukraine, they “do it deliberately” .
