Special Operations Forces of the Regiment «Azov» became the third separate assault brigade in the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The regiment publishes the corresponding video on YouTube.
«It's time to officially announce a new stage in the development of our Azov division – MTR «Azov» expands, changes its name and continues to beat the enemy already as a brigade. Our combat path began with a volunteer territorial defense detachment on February 24, 2022, created by veterans of the regiment & # 171; Azov & # 187; and representatives of the Azov movement & # 187;, & # 8212; noted in the shelf.
They recalled that from the first hours of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army of the TPO «Azov» defended the country, defending Kyiv and the Kiev region. Already in the spring, the unit was reformatted, and as MTR «Azov» fighters destroyed the enemy in the Zaporozhye direction, liberated Kherson and hardened in fierce battles in the Donetsk region.
«In the bloody war with which the enemy came to our land, we are constantly improving our military skills and professionalism. At the same time, we are constantly growing in numbers, accepting and training in our ranks highly motivated fighters who are ready for a difficult struggle for the independence of Ukraine», — the defenders emphasized.
The regiment said that today it was officially announced that the MTR «Azov» expands to brigade.
«From now on, we are the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Our renewed banners symbolize the continuity of the traditions of Ukrainian statehood: from princely times, the time of the Cossacks, the first liberation movements and up to the present. Our strength lies in highly motivated and ideological fighters, our strength lies in the fact that the unit was created on the same principles as the most effective combat unit of the Ukrainian defense forces – OZSP & # 171; Azov & # 187;, which showed steel stability during the defense of Mariupol & #187;, — noted in the regiment.
At the same time, the founder and first commander of the «Azov» regiment, Colonel of the National Guard of Ukraine Andriy Biletsky also said that « «Azov» — now the Third Separate Assault Brigade as part of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
